Habit and structure. Thallus medium to dark green, forming densely packed clumps on intertidal rocks to 8 cm (probably more) in extent. Axes generally upright, usually slightly curved distally, generally verticillately or unilaterally branched. Segments cylindrical, mostly 800–1000 µm in diameter, to 12 mm in length. Lower segments divided by regular transverse walls.

 

Distribution. Widespread in tropical seas.

 

Habitat. Forms cushion-like clumps on intertidal rocks.
