Erect annual, herb, 0.1-0.3 m high, leaves spathulate, 5-45 mm long, 2-12 mm wide, spike ovoid or cylindrical, pink, 13-30 mm long, 15-23 mm wide, 30-70 ?flowered; tepals 7-9 mm long, hairs verticillate, apex glabrous, attenuate; stamens 1, fertile, staminodes 4; Ovary glabrous; style falcate, 1.6-1.8mm long, eccentrically fixed to ovary. Fl. pink, Aug to Oct. Red-white sand. Dunes. Distribution: Eremaean and South-west. CAR. GS.
