Erect perennial, herb, to 1.5 m high. Fl. yellow, Jun or Aug. Skeletal red stony soil over ironstone, red sand over limestone, sandy alluvial soils, calcrete. In gorges on scree slopes, summits and cliffs, amongst boulder rockpiles, on banks of permanent pools. Distribution: Eremaean. CAR, GAS and PIL.
